I. Louis Gumcy 40 x 30. A peristyle, or temple, is the site of a village ceremony, with the traditional three drums to inspire dancers. The vever on the side of the building is an indication that it is dedicated to Erzulie (although other deities are welcomed to ceremonies as well). Gumcy is an Artibonite artist who studied with the Ismael school.
